Privacy

When you create a page, clip.dj stores the exact public destinations, their order, hostnames, service labels, frozen icons, public short ID and timestamps while that page remains available. Anyone with the short link can open its destinations. Telephone and email destinations include the number or address and any supplied parameters. Providing links is voluntary, but without them we cannot provide the requested page (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). With one destination, publication creates or reuses a direct short link storing its exact public destination, hostname, service label, short ID and timestamps. External visits to that short link open its destination. Web links may first attempt a supported provider app with the exact web destination as fallback; telephone, email and other application links use the configured browser or app handler. Creation and internal visits show a page for copying. New single-link pages also store their presentation snapshot. Previously published pages keep their page behavior.

Publish only contact details you intend to share publicly. Do not enter confidential or sensitive information in a link you publish. Link entry, publication and saved opens use bundled service information and stored records without contacting the destination or an AI provider. To improve service support, maintenance reads hostnames and aggregate counts only; full destination URLs and visitor information are not exported.

Published pages keep the destinations, order, labels and icons chosen at creation. Stored public pages open without another source request. Your browser contacts a destination provider when you choose to open its link or follow a direct short link. For supported services, documented app links may open the installed provider app. We do not detect installed apps or receive confirmation that an app opened.

When clip.dj is requested, we process technical request data such as IP address, time, requested URL, browser information, referrer, response status and approximate country to deliver and secure the service, diagnose faults, prevent abuse and measure aggregate use (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These purposes are our legitimate interests in operating a reliable and safe service.

Product events contain limited facts such as event type, public page or resource ID, coarse destination hostname, position, item count, release, approximate country and time, not the search text or full destination. Existing compatibility-page events may retain a random journey reference. Public use requires no account and sets no public tracking cookie or persistent visitor profile.

When you add a valid web link to the composer, we also record its hostname and observation time to improve service support before publication. Application URLs, telephone numbers and email addresses are excluded from this signal. This separate signal retains at most 1,000 hostnames; signals older than seven days are removed during maintenance or the next addition. Service-maintenance tools may review only its hostname, aggregate published-page counts and recent public activation counts. A separate hostname-only review ledger prevents repeated work. The feed excludes paths, queries, fragments, page IDs and visitor addresses. This review never changes the stored destination or presentation of an issued composed page.

You can contact us by email about a link or abuse. We process that correspondence to review the issue and respond. The former public report form is no longer available; existing report records retain the public page ID, selected reason, reference and operational timestamps.

Public link records remain while the public link is available. Access logs, product events, host-review records, reports, blocks and correspondence currently have no fixed automatic deletion period; they remain until manually reviewed and removed when no longer required for operation, security, abuse handling or legal obligations. Hosting is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH. Email and infrastructure providers may process data on our behalf. When you open a resource or direct short link, your browser connects to the stored destination and that provider’s privacy notice applies. Data is disclosed to authorities only where legally required.

The service no longer creates or reads a browser-local link history. Earlier versions may have left public short IDs, labels and save times in local browser storage. The current app does not read or update them; you can remove them through browser site-storage settings. This does not delete published links.

No solely automated decision produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not profile visitors.
