Suicide or Murder? Three Years After the Death of Pfc. LaVena Johnson in Iraq, Her Parents Continue Their Call for a Congressional Investigation Three years ago, on July 19, 2005, Army Private First Class LaVena Johnson was found dead in Balad, Iraq. Her body was found in a tent belonging to the private military contractor KBR. She had abrasions all over her body, a broken nose, a black eye, burned hands, loose teeth, acid burns on her genitals, and a bullet hole in her head. The Army labeled Johnson's death a suicide. But her parents never believed that story. They think she was raped and murdered and are now demanding a full congressional investigation into their daughter's death.

Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Mateo/San Francisco) spoke this morning about the epidemic of rape and sexual assault in the military. She told the story of Air Force Technical Sergeant Jennifer Smith who is speaking out about the military's work environment that is hostile towards women. The Congresswoman said, "It's time for all of us to expect from the military what we expect from the private sector, no hostile work environment." The full text of the speech is below. Mr. Speaker, I would like to turn to my prepared remarks for this morning. I'd like to read you some song lyrics that Air Force Technical Sergeant Jennifer Smith found on her government computer at Shaw Air Force base. The lyrics of the song are called, "The S & M Man," and they go like this: "Who can take a machete, whack off all her limbs, throw her in the ocean, and watch her try to swim? The S & M Man." Jennifer Smith reported this song and other sexually explicit documents to her superiors in the air force. The S & M Man is offensive, it's hostile, but to her male colleagues and superiors, the song is just tradition. A tradition that is alive and well, celebrated in song and patches, offensive pictures, and behavior, and the tacit approval of commanding officers. A military tradition of demeaning women is not only sickening but contrary to the fundamental principles of an institution founded in respect -- founded in respect and honor and in discipline, and it undermines our military's readiness and ...

California Interview by Catherine Harte, a documentary film producer. Extremely Controversial San Francisco Kangaroo court male rape/homicide of Juan Pifarre,a politically connected illegal homosexual alien. Expose of this case was initiated in the US Congress by staffer Al. Santoli, who referred the case to the FBI. Several millitary veterans as well as special investigators have been involved in exposing the rampant judicial, political and media corruption documented in this case. Kevin V. Ryan a wantabe federal judge helped railroad the 18 year old sailor into California's prison system. Thus far-14 years to date, this case has cost the American taxpayer an estimated 15 million dollars. 10 million dollars was spent on an AIDS housing project name "Pifarre Plaza" but renamed "Maricon Mall" by critics. Then San Francisco Judge Ryan put the US Navy and US Marine corps on trial as"homophobic." This and other illegalities was censored and suppressed by the local media morons and opponents of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
NEW YORK A federal judge ruled today that graphic pictures of detainee abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison must be released over government claims that they could damage America's image. Last year a Republican senator conceded that they contained scenes of "rape and murder" and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said they included acts that were "blatantly sadistic." US District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein ordered the release of certain pictures in a 50-page decision that said terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan have proven they "do not need pretexts for their barbarism." The ACLU has sought the release of 87 photographs and four videotapes taken at the prison as part of an October 2003 lawsuit demanding information on the treatment of detainees in US custody and the transfer of prisoners to countries known to use torture. Gen. John Abizaid, commander of US Central Command, said Thursday that releasing the photos would hinder his work against terrorism. "When we continue to pick at the wound and show the pictures over and over again it just creates the image--a false image--like this is the sort of stuff that is happening anew, and it's not," Abizaid said. The judge said, however, that "the freedoms that we champion are as important to our success in Iraq and Afghanistan as the guns and missiles with which our troops are armed." An ACLU release this afternoon said it was getting 70 photos and three video tapes. It also said that the government is being given 20 days to ...
mssparky.com In July 2005, 19-year-old LaVena Johnson became the first female soldier from Missouri to die in Iraq. She was found with a broken nose, black eye and loose teeth, acid burns on her genitals, presumably to eliminate DNA evidence of rape, a trail of blood leading away from her tent and a bullet hole in her head. Unbelievably, that's not the most horrifying part of the story. Here's what is Army investigators ruled her death a suicide.
