Leave a comment and subscribe if you like my first video. PS.: Don't ask what are the meanings of these songs. I'm not Batak. Indonesian language and Batak are two different languages.

This is a modern rendition of popular Batak song. The lyric is in Batak language, and since I don't speak Batak (I have East Borneo and East Java blood but not Sumatra), I did my best to write the lyrics. This song is based on traditional Batak poem about a man who longs for his dream woman. Natinittip sanggar sigule sigule Saibahen huru huruan sigule Sigulempong sigule gule Jolo sinukkun marga sigule sigule Molo sairap hita nadua sigule Sigulempong sigule gule Sirma inang sarge Dasai sirma inang sarge Tarsongoni doho hape pargontingna dauk gale Tarsongoni doho hape pargontingna dauk gale Salendang sapu tangan sigule sigule Diatas ni batu nadua sigule Sigulempong sigule gule Leleng maho ito da sigule sigule Da sai hu pai maina sigule Sigulempong sigule gule Rough translation: Sanggar (a kind of plant) is cut in same length To make huru (a traditional symbol to be put on water buffalo's horns) Make sure you know the origin If you want to be together forever Always true to your promise, woman So that's how you acted O, beautiful and graceful maiden A handkerchief is laid On two rocks stacked together (as a sign) Oh, how I wait you for so long I'm waiting for you, my lover
