The Eighth of my Re-enactment series. This is one of my favorite scenes from any movie. It's from the film Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. In it, Steve Martin is trying to get home for Thanksgiving. He meets John Candy through chance, and just can't see to get rid of him as he tries to make it home before the holidays. In this scene, they stay in a motel room together. After John Candy clears his sinuses for a few minutes, Steve Martin finally snaps and goes off on how annoying he is. Long live John Candy, comic genius. And Steve Martin too... I love him, but... Cheaper by the Dozen 2? Oh well. My moustache = some kleenex colored with a brown marker taped to my face

I think it's John Candy's finest role. Del Griffith is how I always remember him and Steve Martin is at his best. (I have heard he considers this is best film) It has become an annual tradition for me to watch Del and Neal take their Thanksgiving road trip every November. It's still hilarious as ever and I still consider it a comedy masterpiece. I had heard they filmed a ton of footage that was never used, enough to make it a three hour film! I would love to see what else they had done. Is there any chance of them releasing some kind of special edition DVD so we could at least see what was cut? Maybe one day hopefully.
