Bol Bam is a long trek,110 km, and it takes roughly three days to cover the distance. In Sultanganj, the Ganges flows to the North. It is from this place that the devotees collect water in their kanwars and carry the holy Ganges water, with the kanwars on their shoulders. They walk 109 km up to Baba Baidyanath temple at Babadham reciting Bol Bam on the way. The heroine is singing that she will carry two kanwars and she will ask husband's younger brother to carry the damn luggage (One has to carry food/clothes and even a small weight feels heavy while walking the distance ). She manages to convince her mother-in-law after telling her that she will ask Shiva : a kid for herself and a nice wife for her devar( husband's younger brother). I found devar talking on cellphone funny. But, if you are planning to do the trek, a cellphone is a must because everyone is dressed in saffron and once you are separated from your group, it is impossible to find each other. And to give you an idea how easy it is to get lost, over 6 million people visit the temple over 30 days.
