All Rights Belong to Artists Involved. "The Little Drummer Boy" is a popular Christmas song, with words and music by Katherine K. Davis. Henry Onorati and Harry Simeone have been credited with writing the song, even though they were only the arrangers for their recordings of it. The lyrics tell the apocryphal story of a poor young boy who, unable to afford a gift for the infant Jesus, plays his drum for the newborn with the Virgin Mary's approval. Miraculously, the baby, although a newborn, seems to understand and smiles at the boy in gratitude. The story is somewhat similar to an old twelfth-century legend retold by Anatole France as Le jongleur de Notre-Dame (The Juggler of Notre Dame), which was adapted into an opera in 1902 by Jules Massenet. In the French legend, however, a juggler juggles before the statue of the Virgin Mary, and the statue, according to which version of the legend one reads, either smiles at him or throws him a rose (or both, as in the 1984 made-for-television film). Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872 - 1958): Fantasia on Christmas Carols (1912) Part 1 of 2 The video shows the Monteverdi Choir Würzburg and the Mainphilharmonie Würzburg with their conductor Matthias Beckert at the Christmas concert on December 14, 2008 in the Neubaukirche Würzburg, Germany. Baritone: This is the truth sent from above, The truth of God, the God of love: Therefore dont turn me from your door, But hearken all, both rich and poor. The first thing which I will relate Is that God did man create, The next thing which to you Ill tell, Woman was made with man to dwell. Then, after this, twas Gods own choice To place them both in Paradise, There to remain, from evil free, Except they ate of such a tree. And they did eat, which was a sin, And thus their ruin did begin. Ruined themselves, both you and me, And all of their posterity. Choir and Baritone: Thus we were heirs to endless woes, Till God the Lord did interpose, And so a promise soon did run, That he would redeem us by his Son. Choir: Come all you worthy gentlemen, that may be standing by, Christ our blessed Saviour Was born on Christmas Day. The blessed Virgin Mary Unto the Lord did pray. O we wish you the comfort And tidings of joy! Christ our Blessed Saviour Now in the manger lay. He's lying in the manger, While the oxen feed on hay. The blessed Virgin Mary Unto the Lord did pray. O we wish you the comfort And tidings of joy!

This is an example of an abusive copyright holder. The melody is a Ukranian folk tune. The lyrics were written by Peter Wilhousky in the 1930s. The performance is by high school choirs. GoDigital MG claims that the 1930s lyrics are still under copyright, so THEY ARE RUNNING ADS on my daughter's choir performance. Abuse from copyright holders must stop.

Michael Greiner, a neighbor and good friend, asked me to upload several Marimba videos for him (that's him on the left in the middle row). He currently teaches in the after school music program 'Smile A While' at Aveson Charter School aveson.org and constructs musical instruments in classes with students' participation. Michael Greiner created this set of plastic pipe marimbas. On this clip are three generations of prototypes designed to be low cost for use by childrens' programming. The middle row were built with the help of the music class (the performers in this video) The top one (bass version) costs around $200 in materials. The mallets are home made using foam flip-flops mounted to paint stirring sticks. The music is a Michael Greiner original titled Caribbean Fantasy. This recording was of a practice during the school year. The performers had about 4 months practice with this piece along with 12 Bar Blues, Ice Cream, a piece played on Wine Glasses and the Ukrainian Carol (Carol of the Bells) played on another created metal instrument. Filmed at Norma Coombs primary school in Altadena CA in 2007. *** Edited to Add **** Wow, it looks like this video's hit YouTube's front page. Thank you for all the wonderfully kind and supportive comments!
Available direct from: www.safemusic.co.uk Also have a look at "The Gathering" composed for Bagpipes & Concert Band www.youtube.com The Twelve Days of Christmas is always popular during the Yuletide season and an opportunity for audience participation or to feature three or four members of the band with large cards depicting each day. Given the pace of the work this nearly always ends great merriment and ultimate disaster. Scored for concert band by Geoff Kingston this new setting is fun personified and sure to be a hit with Christmas concert goers as an encore or band feature. The text is attached to the score and a separate sheet is included with the instrumental parts. Have fun! This is my Christmas AMV for everyone, not that anyone ends up watching my vids O_o;;; x3 4/26: Back after a while? I didn't know so many people would actually care to watch it x3 but everything everyone's said so far has made me so happy, I mean, I didn't think this was all that good. Sure some parts, but I do believe some parts needs a lot of editing D= I know I get lazy sometimes. So well anyway, I'm glad you all liked this one... I made it while I was obsessed with 'Carol of the Bells' after a school concert thing, the band of our school played it and I was like, "Man, I should grab this song." Haha, Enjoy. Song: Carol of the Bells By: The Transiberian Orchestra Show: Fate/Stay Night [Fate project] For: Christmas/Holidays AMV ;3 I love you all!

Disclaimer: I do not own this! The ballad relates an apocryphal story of the Virgin Mary, presumably while traveling to Bethlehem with Joseph for the census. In the most popular version, the two stop in a cherry orchard, and Mary asks her husband to pick cherries for her, citing her child. Joseph spitefully tells Mary to let the child's father pick her cherries. At this point in most versions, the infant Jesus, from the womb, speaks to the tree and commands it to lower a branch down to Mary, which it does. Joseph, witnessing this miracle, immediately repents his harsh words. The more contemporary versions sometimes end here, while others often include an angel appearing to Joseph and telling him of the circumstances of Jesus's birth. Other versions then jump ahead several years, where the next verse picks up with Jesus on his mother's lap, telling her of his eventual death and resurrection. Joseph was an old man and an old man was he When he married Mary in the land of Galilee. And as they were walking through an orchard so good, There were cherries and berries as red as any blood. O, then bespoke Mary with words so meek and mild, "Pluck me one cherry, Joseph, for that I am with child." "Go to the tree, then, Mary, and it shall bow to thee And you shall gather cherries, by one, by two, by three." Then bowed down the highest tree unto our lady's hand. "See!" Mary cried, "see, Joseph! I have cherries at command!" "Go eat your cherries, Mary, go eat your cherries now. Go eat ...
