Description: Friedrich Gulda playing and conducting mozart piano concerto n°20 in d minor, K.466, first movement (allegro), with munich philharmonic orchestra.Recorded in Gasteig philharmonic hall in munich, in 1986, during the "munich piano summer" festival.he has his very own style, that some may dislike, but we cannot deny his musicality, though i think his sound is sometimes a little brutal. It's still a great pleasure to listen to and watch this video. we can see he has fun playing music, and the way he can play and conduct at the same time with such ease shows how much he has integrated the music.enjoy

It has been a tradition for the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra since 1991 to commemorate the birth of their orchestra - May 1st, 1882 - with a concert in a different European country each time. In 2003, it was Pierre Boulezs turn to conduct the famous concert in Lisbon at the incredible Jeronimos Monastery that was built on the bank of the River Tage in 1946 upon the initiative of King Manuel 1st. The pianist Maria Joao Pires, a native of the country, gives a moving rendition of the "Concerto No.20" KV466 by Mozart. This excerpt is the beginning of the third movement : Allegro assai. I Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor, KV 466 I. Allegro (1/2) Piano: Clara Haskil Cond.: Otto Klemperer --- A few days after the first performance, the composer's father, Leopold, visiting in Vienna, wrote to his daughter Nannerl about her brother's recent success: [I heard] an excellent new piano concerto by Wolfgang, on which the copyist was still at work when we got there, and your brother didn't even have time to play through the rondo because he had to oversee the copying operation. It is written in the key of D minor. Other works in that key include the Requiem, a Kyrie, and the dark opera Don Giovanni. It is the first of two concertos written in a minor key (No. 24 being the other). The young Ludwig van Beethoven admired this concerto and kept it in his repertoire.. Cadenzas for this popular concerto written by famous composers include Beethoven (WoO 58), Johannes Brahms (WoO 16), Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Feruccio Busoni and Clara Schumann. -Wikipedia
