The Looney Tunes tune...
FAKE Dubbin' Version
When Bill Lava took over as musician for Warner Bros. animation in the 60's, eventually, the opening and closing sequence was redone by him as well. Films continued to be released as either Looney Tunes or Merrie Melodies (plus one "Cartoon Special"), but only the Looney Tunes theme ("the Merry Go Round Broke Down") was used, for both brands. A few years ago, a group of us cartoon fans determined that there WAS in fact a new version of the Merrie Melodies theme ("Merrily We Roll Along") created as well, but it was never used in the theatrical releases. Instead, it is actually a very familiar piece associated with the TV shows! It even made it to a Looney Tunes pinball machine in the 80's! I always assumed it was a new piece created for TV, and had never recognized it as Merrily We Roll Along. Where both the old and newer versions of the LT theme preserved the entire line "the merry go round broke down, the merry go round broke down" in the melody, the familiar MM melody "Merrily we roll along; honey and me..." essentially collapses into "merrily, we; merrily we..", and a third repeat is even added to it on the outro. This, follwoed by what is probably a fast multisyllabic garbling of "my honey and me". Again, you'll recognize it when you hear it. Don't know why it was withheld from the theatrical releases Putting it over the 60's LT theme, it actually lines up fairly well, though some things are a bit off. The new Osborne Bum Intro & Outro In High Definition! The logos are modeled after Columbia Pictures, Three Stooges, Looney Tunes, My Own Custom Logo and finally Caravan Pictures with The Three Osborne Bums in silhouette form strolling down a desolate road with very cool fanfare music. This version is also available in standard definition.
I made this because I've been looking back at a lot of Looney Tunes cartoons and felt that I should make this as a tribute to Warner Bros. for a great part of my childhood. So here's what I think the intro would look like if Warner Bros. continued to make Looney Tunes shorts into the 2000s. BTW, yes the theme playing is usually associated with Merrie Melodies, however I used it because it was used for the Looney Tunes in the 90s, and thus, more current.
