Jaane woh kaise log they jinke pyar ko - Tribute to Hemant (Jagjit Singh)
"Pyaasa" (Hindi: प्यासा; Urdu: پیاسا; English: Thirsty) is a 1957 Indian film produced and directed by Guru Dutt. The film tells the story of struggling poet, Vijay (Guru Dutt), trying to make his works known in post-independence India. Gulabo (Waheeda Rehman in her first major leading role in Hindi cinema), a prostitute with a heart of gold, eventually helps him get his poems published. The music was composed by SD Burman. With commercial success of thrillers like Baazi, Jaal, Aar Paar, CID and comedies Mr. & Mrs. '55, Guru Dutt and his studio were financially secure and established. He could now make movies he really wanted to make, including Pyaasa. In 2002, Pyaasa was ranked at #160 on the Sight & Sound critics' and directors' poll for all-time greatest films. In 2005, Pyaasa was rated as one of the 100 best films of all time by Time Magazine, which called it "the soulfully romantic of the lot." Indiatimes Movies ranks the movie amongst the Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films. The film is based on a book written by author and poet Chandra Shekhar 'Prem', from Himachal Pradesh. It was partly based on his life story. He was a struggling poet in the 1950s at the time and took the book to Bollywood. He sold the story and it's rights for Rs.500, so was never given any credit for his work. He went on to publish many books in Hindi and Urdu he was never recognised as the true author of this work. He died in 2002. # There was a debate between writer Abrar Alvi and Guru Dutt ...
First time saw this movie on Doordarshan tv in 1977 and same day theives tried to break in our house. How can I forget these two things in life. Introduction of Guru Dutt to my filmi knowledge was very new and surpiring to me. And this masterpiece took top spot on my best movies chart.

Vijay (Guru Dutt) is an unsuccessful poet whose works are not taken seriously by publishers or his brothers who sell his poems as waste paper. Unable to bear their taunting at him being a good for nothing, he stays away from home often out on the streets. Seeing that Vijay is alive his friend and brothers ...

Jane woh kaise log the, Pyasa
Just recently was listening to this song and somehow could not stop myself from humming it again and again. During that time, suddenly the idea of shooting(thru camera) myself came into my head. The first video I recorded was very simple, just recorded myself from my webcam. The results were surprisingly not as bad as I had thought, and that video gave me the idea for this video. This video was shot on a simple canon digicam at my residence with no special lighting. This video was edited with the help of Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 (which I had never used before I started editing this video) and Windows Live Movie Maker. So please bear with me if you find this video a little shabby and pixelated. This is my simple and humble way of expressing my gratitude towards this wonderful song and the great film-maker, Guru Dutt sahab. Hope I have not offended anyone.... If you like it plz show your appreciation by either liking it or commenting on it or both... Enjoy..... :-) DISCLAIMER : 1.
