Description: Here is a short section from a longer animation done in 2008.The HIV virus is able to withstand therapies due to the ability to adapt to changing environments; however, as each generation of viral variants are produced, they have reduced infectivity. The animation depicts the viral variant process, followed by a unique and important mechanism by which to eradicate the virus.

It is a very excellent animation which explains the hiv replication very clearly. For free download of this video please visit my webpage 3dmed.wetpaint.com And other 3D animation videos visit 3dmed.wetpaint.com Regards, Dr.Rufus The Lyrics of this video is here Targeting HIV replication The replication of HIV 1 is a multi-stage process. Each step is crucial to successful replication and is therefore a potential target of antiretroviral drugs. Step one is the infection of a suitable host-cell, such as a CD4-positive T-lymphocyte. Entry of HIV into the cell requires the presence of certain receptors on the cell surface, CD4 -- receptors and co-receptors such as CCR5 or CXCR4. These receptors interact with protein-complexes, which are embedded in the viral envelope. These complexes are composed of two glycoproteins: an extracellular gp 120 and a transmembrane gp 41 When HIV approaches the target cell gp120 binds to the CD4-receptors. This process is termed attachment. It promotes further binding to a co-receptor. Co-receptor binding results in a conformational change in gp120. This allows gp41 to unfold and insert its hydrophobic terminus into the cell membrane. Gp 41 then folds back on itself. This draws the virus towards the cell and facilitates the fusion of their membranes. The viral nucleocapsid enters the host cell and breaks open releasing two viral RNA-strands and 3 essential replication enzymes: Integrase, Protease and Reverse Transcriptase. Reverse Transcriptase ...
To purchase this program please visit www.greatpacificmedia.com Segment from the program The Immunological System: Recognition, Attack, and Memory. DVD Description Our Immune System DVD starts by looking at external barriers to microbial attack such as the skin and mucus membranes and non-specific internal defenses such as macrophages, natural killer cells, and the inflammatory response. The program then delves into the immune response including the recognition of invaders by antibodies and T-cell receptors, the destruction of invaders by antibodies and cytotoxic T-cells, and the immunity conferred by memory cells. A discussion of how vaccinations work and current AIDS research concludes the program.
www.ppdictionary.com ... Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a member of the retrovirus family that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to life-threatening opportunistic infections. Infection with HIV occurs by the transfer of blood, semen, vaginal fluid, pre-ejaculate, or breast milk. Within these bodily fluids, HIV is present as both free virus particles and virus within infected immune cells. The four major routes of transmission are unsafe sex, contaminated needles, breast milk, and transmission from an infected mother to her baby at birth (vertical transmission). Screening of blood products for HIV has largely eliminated transmission through blood transfusions or infected blood products in the developed world.
For its exhibit at the 2002 International AIDS Conference in Barcelona,GlaxoSmithKline commissioned a three minute film on the life of cycle of the HIV virus, with an emphasis on the mechanism of the integrase molecule in its role in inserting the AIDS virus genome into the host T-cell DNA.

Based on the interview data of a significant transgender population in Chiang Mai, Mplus+ decided to produce an animation that empowers transgender individuals to negotiate condom use with their partners. This animation was piloted with the target population and the feedback was positive. More importantly, as an animation that is made exclusively for transgenders, the narrative itself resonates with transgenders lifeworlds and provides a catalyst for informed discussion in Mplus+s outreach to this population that goes beyond simply advocating condom use. It is about raising awareness and self esteem. Primary project team members include: (1) Mr. Pad Thepsai (Outreach Manager: Mplus+, kamkadam@hotmail.com); (2) Dr. Christopher Walsh (Senior Lecturer The Open University, cswalsh@open.ac.uk); (2) Dr. Peeranuch Jantarakupt (Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Studies: McCormick Faculty of Nursing, Payap University, Peeranuch_J@payap.ac.th); and On-Anong Thammajinda (Lecturer: McCormick Faculty of Nursing, Payap University, onanongth@gmail.com) Animation by Red Sheep Studio (อนุชา หม่องเชย nunimaru@hotmail.com)
