Description: Written by Kris Kristofferson and Marijohn Wilkin in 1974. The best known version belongs to Christy Lane who had a number one hit with it on the Country music charts in 1980. "One Day At A Time" is also commonly referred to as "One Day At A Time Sweet Jesus". This is the dwCrooner Country gospel song version. The unique arrangement with the 6/8 timing and chords is my own personal interpretation. In this video I'm playing the first guitar I ever owned, a vintage 1950 Martin 0018. My father bought it for $100 US and gave it to me when I was 13 years old. Country Gospel, One Day At A Time, An old Christy Lane Song sung by Betty Gurganus, Strolling Down Memory Lane, Billy & Willie Pollard's Country Gospel TV Program, Featuring Old Songs & Hymns, billyandwillie.tripod.com
From Dwight Nathan Winnett. "Where No One Stands Alone" is the hauntingly beautiful featured soundtrack song in the "True Grit 2010" movie trailer only. The lyrics are included in this video's description at YouTube. This authentic Country gospel song is dedicated to all of the brave men and women in the American military and our allies who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of defending their country and to the loved ones they have left behind. I cannot begin to imagine what so very many of these brave veterans of both foreign and domestic wars have gone through by having to die far away from their homes and families. With not being able to have their families and friends with them at the time they realized they were about to die, and not being able to tell them goodbye, they must have felt very alone indeed. May God bless all of them in eternity. "Where No One Stands Alone" was written by Mosie Lister, 1955. This song has become a hallmark of soul stirring classic Gospel music. It reminds us that even for those who die in desolate circumstances, no one will stand alone in eternity. God meets everyone there. I have long loved the way Elvis Presley sang this song during his all too short lifetime. The dwCrooner cover presented in this video is a tribute to Elvis' past performances of this popular, inspiring, Gospel music song. The "forth of July" is a common misspelling and is included here only for search engine reference purposes. Every existing dwCrooner ...
From Dwight Nathan Winnett. The music is from the 1997 "Garth Brooks" hit "If Tomorrow Never Comes". The revised lyrics are a collaborative effort by the BibleVerities channel on YouTube and dwCrooner. If you like the concept of familiar classic pop tunes set to revised Christian lyrics, be sure to check out the many videos on the BibleVerities channel where that is a specialty. www.youtube.com is the website address where the complete collection of dwCrooner music videos can be found and viewed for free. LYRICS: "If tomorrow never comes, if I must leave this world without you, never doubt I'll be alright, in heaven that same night, even while your heart breaks. If I'm not there for you to hold, and to tell you that I love you, don't let pain steal your faith, try to trust and obey, and God will anoint you. If tomorrow you're alone, cling to faith and let it guide you. I'll be living in Gods land, singing in His band, and waiting there to meet you. Yes I'll be waiting there for you, and where I've gone you'll one day follow. We'll walk the streets of gold, no tears or growing old, as His love surrounds us. Yes when Jesus calls you home, when all your trials are behind you, we'll be together once again, where our lives will never end, and love forever keeps us."
From Dwight Nathan Winnett. Hauntingly beautiful, traditional American Gospel Music: "Down In The River To Pray" is thought to be a Negro spiritual song that was originally titled "Down In The Valley To Pray". Although documents of its composition are non-existent, it is believed to have been composed by African slaves in America before President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, before the US Civil War, and supposedly sometime during the early part of the nineteenth century. The transition from its origins infers that this old gospel song was later adopted by the white Appalachian mountain range settlers where it apparently acquired it's now famous Country Gospel - Blue Grass sounding character. During that period it was known as one of the church camp meeting sing-along songs that was traditionally sang around campfires before bedtime. Subsequently, it may have been further adapted by the "Southern Baptist" congregations (the predominant denomination in the American deep south "bible belt") with the substitution of the word "valley" for their preferred term "river". I personally tend to believe that this was the case and in my opinion that change was merely a reflection of the Baptists' greatly held significance of the act of baptism by water that distinguishes the Baptist denomination from other Protestant denominations. Over the years the term "river" seems to have prevailed because modernly, few prominent recordings of the song with the term "valley" exist ...
The unique arrangement and interpretation of this old Christian hymn are my own. In this video I'm playing all the instruments and doing all the singing. In the movie "True Grit 2010" this beautiful old American Christian church hymn, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" was chosen by the Coen brothers to be a part of the official soundtrack. However, it was a piano solo only. I used about ten separate tracks to record the audio portion. The images used are through a Creative Commons license initiated by the individual image owners and are the property of their respective owners. Also included in the "True Grit 2010" movie soundtrack was the classic Country gospel hymn "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" sung by "Iris Dement". In the movie trailer only the hymn "Where No One Stands Alone" was featured with the "Peasall Sisters" doing the singing. FYI, there are dwCrooner videos of both "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms" and "Where No One Stands Alone" on YouTube, too. I uploaded them to YouTube about a year before the "True Grit 2010" movie was released. Be sure to take a look at them, too. Every dwCrooner video can be viewed for free at YouTube. All three of these old 19th century Christian church hymns from the movie "True Grit 2010" are forever an integral part of history in the old American Wild West. People could hear them, and many other old Christian church hymns composed in that era, emanating from thousands of primitive little wooden church buildings constructed ...

Vee-Jay Records released the Staple Singers' first long-play album, titled 'Uncloudy Day', in 1959; the disc, number 5000, was additionally the first in the Vee-Jay Spiritual Series. The songs for this video I selected from the album; they are 1) On My Way To Heaven; 2) Going Away; 3) I'm Leaning; 4) I Know I Got Religion. The visuals are also from the album-- a portion of the cover art, and a photograph of Roebuck Staples with his children. However, the liner notes suggest that the son, Pervis, had left the group to go into the army, being replaced by his sister Yvonne. The other members of the family group are given as Cleotha, then age 25, the oldest child; Mavis, 19; and Cynthia, 7. The songs were arranged by Roebuck Staples, who accompanies on the guitar, bringing a fresh, distinctive, heartfelt sound to gospel.

By Ralph Carmichael, 1968. Recorded by Elvis Presley in 1971. There were no other notable recording artists that covered "Reach Out To Jesus" so it is known as an "Elvis Presley Gospel Song". However, it's one of my favorite Presley gospels songs. Considering how many Presley gospel songs I've covered and uploaded to the Internet, I'd be remiss to not cover this one, too. So here it is! This is the dwCrooner cover version. In this video I'm playing the first guitar I ever owned, a vintage 1950 Martin 0018. My father bought it for $100 US and gave it to me when I was 13 years old. Every dwCrooner music video can be viewed for free at YouTube. The lyrics are as follows: Reach Out To Jesus Is your burden heavy as you bear it all alone? Does the road you travel harbor dangers yet unknown? Are you growing weary in the struggle of it all? Jesus will help you, when on His name you call He is always there hearing every prayer faithful and true Walking by our side in His love we hide, all the day through When you get discouraged just remember what to do Reach out to Jesus, He's reaching out to you Is the life you're living filled with sorrow and despair? Does the future push you with its worry and its scare? Are you tired and jealous? Have you almost lost your way? Jesus will help you, just talk to Him today He is always there hearing every prayer faithful and true Walking by our side in His love we hide, all the day through When you get discouraged just you remember what to do ...
