Robin Gibb RIP Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees dies at the age of 62 from cancer

Robin Gibb has died of Colon Cancer at the age of 62. Born Robin Hugh Gibb on December 22nd in 1949 to Barbara and Hugh Gibb in Douglas, Isle of Man. Co-founder of one of the most influential bands of the 20th century, The Bee Gees (Brothers Gibb) along with twin brother Maurice and eldest brother Barry. There was one other brother, the youngest, Andy Gibb, who died tragically at the age of 30 with a heart attack. Robins twin brother Maurice died in January 2003. The Bee Gees will be remembered for many things but it will be for their work on the film saturday Night Fever that will be highlighted, which for me is a shame as I am a massive fan of the early songs, such as 'To Love Somebody' " First of May' 'New York Mining Disaster' and the likes, they also made some fantastic music later on in their careers that eclipsed, in my opinion, the Disco era stuff. Each to his own I say. The Bee Gees (or Beegees) wrote for other artists and their list of hits is probably second only to Lennon and McCartney but not by much, Dionne Warwick, Celine Dion, Dianna Ross, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers are just a few of the giants of music that owe some of their sucess to the Bee Gees. RIP Robin Hugh Gibb, singer, songwriter, producer, performer and good egg! Video: Doylie45 www.myluxuryvillas.com

Lesson In Love (Barry Gibb) Now Voyager LP.wmv

Barry Alan Crompton Gibb, CBE (born 1 September 1946) is a singer, songwriter and producer. He was born in the Isle of Man to English parents. With his brothers Robin and Maurice, he formed The Bee Gees, one of the most successful pop groups of all time. The trio got their start in Australia, and found their major success when they returned to England. Known for his high-pitched falsetto singing voice, Gibb shares the record with John Lennon and Paul McCartney for consecutive Billboard Hot 100 Number Ones as a writer with six. The book of Guiness World Records lists Barry Gibb as the second most successful songwriter in history behind Paul McCartney Barry Gibb was born to Barbara and Hugh Gibb in the Isle of Man. He has an older sister, Lesley (born 1945), and three younger brothers, fraternal twins Robin (born 1949) and Maurice (1949--2003), and Andy (1958--1988). He and his family moved to Chorlton-cum-Hardy in Manchester in 1953. When he was 12 years old, his family moved to Brisbane, Australia, settling in one of the city's poorest suburbs, Cribb Island. The suburb was later bulldozed to make way for Brisbane Airport. It was in Australia that Gibb and his brothers Robin and Maurice started performing as the Bee Gees. The Gibb family returned to England in 1967. Shortly afterward, the Bee Gees became international stars.

Andy Gibb - White Christmas.

Born Andrew Roy Gibb in Manchester, England, to Barbara (née Pass) and Hugh Gibb, Andy emigrated with his family to Australia six months after his birth. They settled in Cribb Island, adjacent to Redcliffe, north of Brisbane. He was the youngest of five children and had one older sister, Lesley (1945), and three older brothers, Barry (1946) and twins Maurice (22 December 1949 12 January 2003) and Robin (1949). Gibb began playing at tourist clubs around Spain's coastal Island of Ibiza, and later on the Isle of Man, as a young teenager. The idea of his joining the Bee Gees was often suggested, but the age gap between him and his elder brothers (more than 11 years younger than Barry, slightly more than eight years younger than twins Robin and Maurice) made this difficult to achieve. After returning to Australia in 1975 to hone his craft as a singer and songwriter, Gibb began recording a series of his own compositions, one of which was released as a single on the ATA label, owned by veteran Australian performer, Col Joye. "Words and Music" would eventually reach Top Five on the Sydney music charts in 1976. This breakout would pave the way to an even greater milestone later that year — an invitation from Robert Stigwood (who, at the time, was also the Bee Gees' manager) to launch his international career signed to his label, RSO Records. Gibb soon moved to Miami Beach, Florida to begin working on songs with his brother Barry, and co-producers Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardson ...

NEW Valentina Laberkova "Woman in Love" Live

Barbra Streisand - Woman in Love by Valentina Filmed and Edited by Keith Lee "Woman in love" Songwriters: GIBB, ROBIN HUGH / GIBB, BARRY ALAN Life is a moment in space When the dream is gone Its a lonelier place I kiss the morning goodbye But down inside you know We never know why The road is narrow and long When eyes meet eyes And the feeling is strong I turn away from the wall I stumble and fall But I give you it all... Chorus: I am a woman in love And I do anything To get you into my world And hold you within Its a right I defend Over and over again What do I do? With you eternally mine In love there is No measure of time We planned it all at the start That you and i Would live in each others hearts We may be oceans away You feel my love I hear what you say No truth is ever a lie I stumble and fall But I give you it all Repeat chorus I am a woman in love And Im talking to you Do you know how it feels? What a woman can do Its a right That I defend over and over again......

Robin Gibb, one of the three fantastically talented Gibb brothers who made up the Bee Gees, today passed away after a long battle with cancer aged just 62.. Robin, along with his brother Maurice, who died in 2003 and elder brother Barry together made up probably one of the most successful singer song-writer groups of all time. It has been estimated that the Bee Gees' career record sales total more than 220 million, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. His music will be greatly missed. The trio's pop-songwriting instincts and distinctive high harmonies led to many No. 1 hits over five decades. Asked in 2010 for his greatest achievement, Gibb told The Guardian: "Having the most successful catalog of songs in the world, alongside Lennon and McCartney." The band of Gibb brothers was famed for the influential 1977 "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack that became one of the fastest-selling albums of all time with its innovative fusion of harmony and pulsing dance floor rhythms, along with Night Fever and Jive Talkin'. They enjoyed success in every decade from the 1960s to the 2000s. Robin also charted intermittently as a solo artist. He released six solo albums between 1970 and 2006, and scored a British No 1 single as recently as 2009 with a new version of the Bee Gees' song 'Islands in the Stream', originally performed by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers for Comic Relief. Robin Gibb was born ...

March 5, 1958 ? March 10, 1988 History has shown that the more intensely a star shines, the faster it tends to burn out. This has been true since the beginning of time in astronomy and of those shiny people we refer to as ?Stars?. Gazing into mythology of old, we look at the story of ?Orpheus,? and apply it in a fashion to the tragically short life of Andy Gibb. According to myth, Orpheus was murdered so he could not sing again. His head was cut off and thrown into the river; and yet, the head continued to sing with the voice of an angel. You can destroy the singer, but you cannot silence the song. Unfortunately, even today society is guilty of destroying people with immense talent. Society loves to worship incredibly talented people and shower them with affection and worldly goods. Sadly, this same society also thrives on the desecration of their created ?gods?. Often unwittingly destroying the person who was lost behind the ?Star? image as well. Andy possessed immense talent and rose to prominence in the late 1970?s and was the ?Star? of the moment. He was pampered, worshiped, and loved by all. Then one day the roller coaster ride stopped and Andy could no longer survive the terrible toll that had been placed on him physically and psychologically. Andy fell ill in 1988 while making preparations for a well deserved come back. He succumbed to viral myocarditis (heart inflammation caused by a virus) just five days past his 30th Birthday. Andy?s extraordinary story began in ...
