I was in Bangladesh to do scouting location for my first feature film and to see if I could make a documentary series on the beauties of Bangladesh. I had worked in New York on video projects with a Bangladeshi for while and I was fascinated about the way he was speaking about his country, his childhood, his family .. that was the inspiration for the story for the feature film. I went to Bangladesh for 3 weeks when it was the end of the Ramadan. I crossed the country from East to West and South to North. I was lucky enough to have stayed staying with native Bangladeshi. I went to villages where people had never seen a white person before. The Bangladeshi People are some of the nicest people I've ever met, some were rich poor, some were poor. Some people had so little to live with. When I say little I mean what a western person like me will think of 'so little". But when you go to a 3rd world country you have to change your mind set, rich or poor doesn't' have the same value here and there (could talk about it for hours, contact me). People I had met during my journey always tried to offer me food, gifts. NEVER I say NEVER had one person asked me for money, for them it would have been an insult. Bangladeshi people are very proud, and they ought to be! They were so happy to speak to me about their country, show me their houses, family, culture ... I cannot forget their enthusiasm when I was speaking about wanted to make a movie that will show what is good about the country ...
