This is a 4 minute video of over 50 Old Classic Western TV Show Introduction / Theme Songs from the 1950s and 60s. Just a few seconds of each.
Some of the rarer but just as entertaining TV themes and their equally entertaining opening montages.
Part one of three, of this 1966 episode of "''Truth or Consequences" hosted by Bob Barker. This unusual episode is from the first-run syndication edition, and as such had a shorter running time than "network" shows of the time.
A 1966 Promo for "It's About Time", a short-lived 1960's sitcom about two men who travel back in time. Completely inaccurate and silly, but still looks like a cool show. This series aired for 26 episodes between 1966 and 1967 on the CBS Television Network. Changed format half-way through it's only season and became a series about two cave men living in the modern day. My mother says this was a "so silly it's funny" sort of show, she's probably right. This promo lasts for a total of 4 minutes. Sorry for the faded picture quality.
Go back in time and visit some of the best television shows from the 1960s. How many of these did you watch on a regular basis? All these shows started their run in the 60s. Music is MacArthur Park sung by Richard Harris. Enjoy!
Quite rare and largely forgotten theme intros to shows that made their debuts between 1960-1964: Follow the Sun, Cain's Hundred, East Side West Side, Robert Taylor The Detectives, Bus Stop, Destry, Outlaws, National Velvet, Dick Powell Show, Richard Boone Show, Chrysler Theatre, Empire, Stoney Burke, Wide Country, Llyod Bridges Show, The Lieutenant, Stagecoach West, Overland Trail, Great Adventure, Profiles in Courage, Hollywood and the Stars, Mr. Novak, Arrest and Trial, The Defenders, Slattery's People, Dante, Michael Shayne, Hong Kong, Target: The Corruptors, New Breed.
A reunion from the cult 60s "Batman" TV series/movie featuring Adam "Batman" West, Burt "Robin" Ward and Lee "Catwoman #2" Meriwether at the Hollywood Show on Oct. 8, 2011. Music Courtesy of Asoke Publishing, Ron Morgan - Sounddogs.com.
A selection of 25 TV themes and images in chronological order from 1955 to 1970
An episode of the wonderfully dated 1960s Television show "Mary, Mungo and Midge". This aired for 13 episodes and is wonderfully dated. It was a British childrens show.
I am very proud of the television series I made for PBS called Making Sense of the Sixties. I had the chance to spend a year examining my youth and how I became an active member of the 60s generation. If you are from that generation or a child of the 60s, I think you would find the entire series of value. To see my other work visit www.theHoffmancollection.com
This video is not for my subscribers. This is for the general YouTube population. I know my subbers only have 2 minute attention spans. :D HeeHee. This is a 10 minute video so sit back, relax and watch it. It actually goes by fairly quickly. Thanks to "The Ancient One" for his help with this. He would like to hear from any old farts especially, in the comments section. Thank you.
