The Troggs were early rockers with chart topping songs such as the "Caveman Rock". They also wrote pop and ballads and were part of the British Invasion of rock music in the 1960s. The group composed the majority of their own music and had a wide range and melodic invention, with Reg Presley's vocals setting the tone of their music. between 1966 and 1968, they were famous for their instantly hit singles such as "With A Girl Like You" and "I Can't Control Myself."
Well people, these are, for me, the best and my favorite bands from the wonderful 60's :) Some persons have already told me it is a good selection (certainly it was difficult!) and they may be good for people who would like to know more about the music in these years. Yes, I know there were some bands missing :( What do you think? :)

Blowin' or Blowing in the Wind info: "Blowin' in the Wind" is a song written by Bob Dylan in 1962 and released on his album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan in 1963. Although it has been described as a protest song, it poses a series of rhetorical questions about peace, war and freedom. The refrain "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind" has been described[by whom?] as "impenetrably ambiguous: either the answer is so obvious it is right in your face, or the answer is as intangible as the wind". In 1999, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2004, it was ranked #14 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". ----------------------------------- Peter, Paul and Mary: Peter, Paul and Mary were an American folk-singing trio whose nearly 50-year career began with their rise to become a paradigm for 1960s folk music. The trio was composed of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey and Mary Travers. After the death of Mary Travers in 2009, Yarrow and Stookey continued to perform as a duo under their individual names. Mary Travers has said she was influenced by Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and the Weavers. In the documentary Peter, Paul & Mary: Carry It On — A Musical Legacy members of the Weavers discuss how Peter, Paul and Mary took over the torch of the social commentary of folk music in the 1960s.
